“Lessons in life will be repeated until they are learned.” – Frank Sonnenberg
“It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.” - Aristotle
Even with a great amount of wisdom from God, Solomon made many poor choices. It is evident from Proverbs and the many references, “my son” that Solomon attempted to instill wisdom in his son Rehoboam. This wisdom didn’t stick either as he decided foolishly to split the kingdom. You will see over the next generations how there is a complete failure to apply wisdom consistently from one generation to the next. Just imagine what could have been! If only they had been faithful and applied wisdom.
Wisdom is the application of knowledge... it is putting into practice that which we know is truth and right... wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord, as reverence for Him affects every decision we make. God owns all the wisdom, He has a monopoly, but thankfully He wants to give it to us liberally... all we have to do is ask.
Reading the Scriptures is great, but that is only half the battle... APPLY, do what the scriptures say. Today, ask the Lord to give you wisdom. Today read the Scriptures asking God to speak to you directly. Meditate on the Scriptures, and live out the principles therein.
